Theology is the study of the nature of God and religious belief and is a way to grow not just spiritually but also as a person. Which is why it is so important it is studied today. There are many different sources that are drawn from in the study of theology, such as: The Bible, literature by Augustine, Dei Verbum as ready in class and many more. The sources all have a contribution while studying this topic. The Bible gives us scripture which allows us to trace themes like creation and new creation as well as study history and literature. Now, while these sources have their advantages they also have their disadvantages. Sources such as the Bible were written a long time ago, so the science was not modern which leaves room for scientific error riddled throughout the bible such as Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 2. Genesis 1:1 talks about how God created the heavens and the earth and is preparing land for men and women to inhabit, while Genesis 2 refers to God creating man to worship and obey him.
