The third “sibling-like” Paracetamol is Panadol. Panadol is produced by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and it is one of their brands out of the many produced by them. Panadol can be sold over the counter (OTC) in Singapore’s different pharmacy retail stores. It is sold in many different forms or names such as Panadol Extra, Panadol Extend, Panadol (Optizorb), Panadol menstrual, Pandol Sinusmax, Panadol Cold and Flu and etcetera. Panadol Extra is the only medicine that contains 65mg caffeine compared to the other Panadol products that has been made. Panadol Extra dosage for adults is 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours if required and whereas children above 12 years old dosage is the same for adults. Panadol Extend is commonly taken for muscles and joint pain. It is the modified version of Paracetamol. Panadol Cold and Flu becomes effective for nasal congestion as it contains Paracetamol and Phenylephrine hydrochloride. Panadol menstrual is only drug for young ladies who constantly experiences period cramps in the monthly period cycle. It is said to be useful as it sustains the pain for a period or maybe lesser it depends on individuals. Not everyone is able to take the menstrual tablets as different people have different reactions to the drug. Panadol (For Children) comes with cherry flavour and can be chewed or dissolved in the water rather than swallowing. Only for children below 6 years old must mix water to take the product. The only Panadol product that can produce effervescence is Panadol Soluble that comes with the flavour of lemon taste. Panadol Soluble and Panadol Hot Remedy comes in sachets that needs to be dissolved in water, the rest is taken by swallowing the pill down. Panadol Cough and Flu is a suggestive drug when you have cough and flu together, you can take it. If the user has no cough is not able to take the Panadol with cough and flu together. Panadol comes in different pill form like tablet to having able to produce effervescent. There is Panadol for children, but the dosage depends on how heavy they weight or what is their age. The dosage for adults is 1 to 2 tablets and 3 to 4 times a day depending on how serious it is.
