The middle ages should also be labeled the dark ages because of the years of suffering that went on from all the invasions occuring. Invaders, usually the north, would come into towns and make a waste of everything. These invasions made people live in fear and leave their homes. In document 3, ” 842, in this year was there was a great slaughter in london and quentavic and rochester…843, the northmen, with their boats filled with booty, including both men and goods, return to their own country.” The dark ages were negative,so this label matches the terrible invasions that happened to these families.

Finally, the middle ages should be labeled age of feudalism because they were low on culture and achievements and lived off knowledge from civilizations before them. In document 6, “It performs the function of the knowledge and treasure of what had come before.” No creativity was put in by anybody everything was already there. In document 7, “medieval culture was in perfect, was restricted to a narrow circle of superior minds.” They never had nothing established and going for them.
