St Mary’s Convent and Nursing Home recognizes the role played by others in health care service delivery. It is essential that you work in partnership with all of the people surrounding the individuals you are supporting in order to ensure the best possible support and care is provided. This will include carers, families, friends, advocates and other people. In order to work well in partnership, there has to be good communication and you will need to have good communication skills. For example if there is communication difficulties with resident a carer or family member can share information with me about how I can better communicate with the resident and how I can improve. Resident dietary restrictions, preferences and dislikes can only be known from their family members or friends. So it is essential to establish a communication and maintain good relationship with resident family and friends.
