Police will pull over a minority just because they may not necessarily be in the neighborhood that the police think they should be. An example, a black professor was arrested for breaking into his own home. He had locked himself out and living in an upper-class neighborhood. Police arrested him even though he was stating he lived there. They didn’t try to check to see who lived there instead he was arrested and taken to jail. Of course, charges were dropped. They automatically assumed he was a breaking in someone’s home and that he didn’t live there. Would they have done the same with a white person?
