I believe technical vocational education and training is the key that will unlock all potential doors to employment.
In my experience working in TVET I started my career as an Industrial Arts Teacher in Secondary School for 2 years and then joined the Vocational School which is now known as Technical College of Fiji. At whatever point the education system is in our country, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) is the cornerstone. TVET is the key because it facilitates skills development for employability. Unfortunately, however, TVET is regarded as second best to the academic stream and so gets the fewest resources.
According to this qualification, Certificate IV in teaching TVET is new to our system which was reviewed by the senior stakeholder and being pilot for the first time to train the trainer to be well vest on the ways of delivering in the classroom and also for the demonstration and hands- on skills for practical classes.
As a TVET trainer archiving of this qualification will be making the difference of being in the school system without certificate in education. Advantage of gaining of this qualification will fill the gaps so that I can become a good role model to my trainees, good teacher in any aspect of teaching and learning environment and good leader to the community.
To conclude, teaching is ways of changing the mindset of the students and displays the career pathway somewhere the student could possibly reach
