Hello, Professor Miller.
This is Olga Melnichuk, your former student in Anatomy Lab class. I’m currently in the process of compiling a portfolio that I will be using to support my application for PA programs. I would be most grateful if you could provide me with a letter of recommendation to complete my portfolio. I understand that you, as a Professor, probably do not have a chance to get to know our student very well within such a short period of time as two weeks. But for online students like myself having these two weeks on campus is perhaps the only opportunity to meet with our Professors face-to-face and to establish some kind of a connection with the classmates and the institution. I did get a B in the class but overall I’ve always been interested in studying and my passion for medicine is now stronger than ever. I received my Bachelors in Health Sciences degree from South University that I graduate magna cum laude. I also was awarded recognition for outstanding academic performance at DSC Nursing School where I completes the Long-term care program.
I have greatly enjoyed and benefited from the two weeks intensive anatomy lab course I took in May. Your and your assistants’ teaching style and interaction with the class made the study of anatomy much easier and more fun. Today I feel much more confident about my knowledge in anatomy and my dissection skills because of your class, and everything that I’ve learned in this course I will use throughout college and in my future career.
I appreciate all of the time and energy that you have invested in me and my classmates and hope that you will consider submitting a letter of recommendation on my behalf to CASPA (Central Application Service for Physician Assistants). But if you are not comfortable endorsing my candidacy for a PA school (which I will understand), please let me know.
Thanks so much for all you have done for me and for taking the time to review this request.
