Why is the chapter entitled “The Sound of the Shell”?
Answer: Conch was what Piggy called it. The reason why the chapter is called ‘The Sound of the Shell’ is because Piggy remembers that someone had it on his back wall and he use to blow on it and his mom would come. So this is why they used the shell to gather everyone. Whenever anyone heard the sound the would come over to the spot and listen to the one holding it.

Answer: The chapter is about setting up the fire .And the fire gets out of hand and the mountain is on fire.

Answer: They use Piggys glasses. Ralph moves the lenses back and forth to get the lenses out and use it to set up the fire;

CHAPTER THREE
What is the significance of the title “Huts on The Beach?
Answer:
The chapter is about the boys facing problems they need food and want meat so in the chapter they talk about building huts on the beach for shelter.
What do Piggy, Simon, and the littlun with the birthmark have in common?
Answer: Piggy has Asthma, Simon has epilepsy and littun has a birth mark. They are weak and basically wanting to survive with their weakness.

Why does Ralph reproach Jack?
Answer: Ralph is annoyed by Jack and his choir’s are not working on the shelters. Ralph is annoyed that the kids keep running off and Jack doesn’t seem to be taking building shelters seriously

What two groups with different goals are emerging?
Answer: Ralph is concerned about making their life good until they get rescued from the island. He makes plans to keep the fire going and he built three shelters, but his group has the littluns and they don’t seem to be interested in helping him. Jacks group is the hunters they promised to keep the firing going but they aren’t interested in keeping the fire going but only interested in hunting. He gets angry when he cant hunt.
Why does Simon go to the bower?
Answer: Because he wants to go there alone as its quite and beautiful and that it is away from the other boys. He feels that the other boys don’t do much.
