Analysis of variance for all studied seedling traits in the three different plant genera

Analysis of variance for all studied seedling traits in the three different plant genera (rice, wheat and barley)
Analysis of variance of root length and shoot length showed significant differences in rice and barley for genotypes and for the three plant genera (rice, wheat and barley) for mannitol treatments while the interaction between genotypes and mannitol treatments showed significant differences only in rice for shoot length (Table 2). Genotypes, however, showed no statistical variation for root length and shoot length in wheat cultivars. On the other hand, germination percentage (%) in all plant genera showed significant differences in genotype and treatments in rice and barley while the interaction between genotype and treatment showed no significant differences in all plant genera. No variation between wheat genotypes for shoot length in this experiment is in line with the result of Simova-Stoilova et al. (2008) who concluded from their study that physiological response to drought was similar among the varieties. The significant differences between genotypes, for mannitol concentrations and their interaction as well. The significant interaction revealed that the genotypes responded differently to stress condition.
