The Importance of College Education
Derek Bok states that “the most obvious purpose of college education is to help students acquire information and knowledge by acquainting them with facts, theories, generalizations, principles, and the like”. I would rather go to college because it will be beneficial in the future.
Getting a college education will open up many doors in my search for a career. Going to college will provide me with many opportunities to get a job. Some of the benefits of a college education include career opportunities like better paying and definitely higher skilled jobs. Finding a job is one of the most important things to do to succeed in life. As technology advances, higher paying jobs that were at one time available to high school students now demand some kind of higher education. Today, most jobs require an associate or bachelor’s degree. By earning a degree, I can get the opportunity to apply for jobs that now require a college degree. Currently, college graduates make up the larger portion of people who have a good, high paying job. Individuals who have higher education levels earn more, pay more taxes, and are more likely than others to be employed and to have job benefits such as retirement and health or car insurance.
Going to college will give me a good education. Getting a good education is one of my top priorities. If I am not interested in learning, college remains a complete waste of time and money. Applying to go to college is the first step to a successful future. It provides financial security, a high paying job, and good time management. Students in college learn to basically apply information that they generally learn to the field or workplace. Moreover, college education helps people to solve problems in an effortless and comfortable way. As a result, they can live a trouble-free life.
College will also give me an opportunity to socialize and make new friends. People from all around the world travel to different colleges. Universities are also a place to meet people from different backgrounds. Citizens learn how to embrace diversity, advance their career, and explore new cultures and ideas. Although college is hard, people learn to make new friends to support them. Attending a good college will give me the chance to make friends and connect, opening doors for my future career.
In conclusion, I support college education because of its many benefits. I think that it is necessary to have a college education in order to be successful, have a better job and acquire good investments down the road. Applying for a good college education sets people up for a life of success, financial security and happiness. College matters because the future of our country depends on the college students. Although some people may choose to attend college because their friends, or their parents did, college can turn out to be a complete success for some, or a complete catastrophe for others. Students at college matter to the growth and development of every society. People that attend college are the individuals that want to make education a significant importance in their life, acquire a successful career, and live a wealthy life.
