1.1 legislations and codes of practice have been made to the promote equality and valuing of diversity. These are listed in the United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of the Child of 1989. Disability Discrimination Act of 1995 is one of these rules. This legislation is made to defend the rights of young people and children with disabilities such “a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on a person’s ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities”. The Disability Discrimination Act of 2005 act makes schools form a Disability Equality Scheme (DES). Due to this act, schools now create diverse activities that anyone can partake regardless of their capability.
